What to Ask Yourself Before Finding a Wedding Photographer

We all know that planning a wedding takes work and attention to detail. So, if the logistics are a given, then how and why does it become so stressful?

Well, we’ve got the secret: it takes a specialized task force to plan a wedding the right way. Without that, you will experience dissent and stress.

But how do you go identify the right people to make your day special? Let’s start with the photographer, the person responsible for capturing the memories that will live on forever.

You’ll need to ask yourself a few questions:

  • How important are these photos to me? Will I put them away in an album and never look at them again or will I cherish them dearly and whip them out often?

  • What am I hoping to get out of these photos? Digital copies? Album portraits? Some combination of both?

  • What would make or break my photos? Do I need extreme professionalism? How much contact will I need?

  • What kind of style am I looking for? Black/white? Rustic? Contemporary? Kitschy?

  • What kind of personality will work best with me? Gentle? Bold? Zany?

  • How much can I budget for my dream photos? (This is not a trick question. Your budget is your budget.)

  • Who’s helping to choose the photographer? Just you? Your partner? Your parents? (Keep in mind, those that are paying should have a say if they desire, whoever they are.)

Of course, as time goes on, you can do your research and start to compare photographers. However, you’ll quickly learn that there a ton of photographers out there that COULD capture your day on camera. However, only one is right. Before you jump into the rabbit hole, feel free to meander through our wedding photos. Maybe, just maybe, we could be a fit to help you create lifelong memories.

I love watching TV, cooking, and exploring the world. I also have an 11-year-old Bichon Frise "puppy" (because he loves to be babied) named Snowball who pretty much runs my life.

Contact me to chat about Bichons, Game of Thrones, or wedding horror stories - who doesn't love a good one of those?
