15 Fun Facts about me, a Charlotte Engagement Photographer!

When it comes to engagement photographers, some may argue

“They’re all the same!”

….I get it.

Not everyone’s willing to share much about themselves, outside of course, their love for taking pics. I, for one, refuse to be one of a million-plus Charlotte-based engagement photographers.

To prove this, I invite you to read 15 fun facts  about me. My likes, my loves...the things that make me, well, me. Because it’s what makes me the engagement photographer I am today, and, hopefully, your choice for a unique engagement session tomorrow.

1. My favorite beer is...

Here in Charlotte, it’s OMB Copper for me. The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (OMB) has a signature brew, Copper. My fave in the whole country? A smooth Tennessee beer called Gerst, a full-bodied German ale/lager hybrid, also a German-style brew. Cheers!

2. I love catching flights.

My love for traveling has led me to discover my favorite city, Shanghai. It’s China's largest city and offers countless attractions to explore, including Yu Garden, a 400-year-old, five-acre wonder.

3. I wear a size-12 shoe.

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons found the average male shoe size is between 9 and 12...I’m just sayin’.

4. I speak French semi-fluently.

I was able to make use of it in a former gig at a call center, where I got to speak it every single day. Studies suggest bilingual workers can earn between 5 and 20 percent more per hour than one-language speakers. Learn a new language!

5. An instrument I can play is…

The guitar. If I had to choose, I prefer the acoustic to electric all day. If you ever thought about taking up guitar, go with acoustic. It’s harder to play but it makes your fingers stronger.

6. Nature, animal, and science documentaries are my jam!

I can spend hours listening to British dudes, like David Attenborough. Looking for something to stream on Netflix? Check out Life in Color, narrated by David himself, as he explores the importance of color in the lives of animals.

7. I'm a big fan of Midwood Smokehouse!

What’s not to love about this spot? The Smoked Half Chicken that falls off the bone, with either SC Mustard or Midwood sauces...I’m getting hungry. There’s three locations throughout Charlotte, plus one in Huntersville!

8. I’m an equally big fan of video games!

9. I’ve attended 100 concerts in my lifetime.

Needless to say, I’m super excited to see the return of concerts, although COVID-19 protocols could make for a slightly different experience. We shall see...

10. My favorite color is hunter green.

Here’s a fun fact in a fun fact: 19th-century English hunters rocked the color for camouflaging purposes.

11. I was born in Philadelphia...

“Cue the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song”. Sorry. Couldn’t help it. Besides, everyone knows it’s the cheesesteaks that make the city famous. If you’re looking for a good one, check out the iconic Geno's on South 9th, open 24/7!

13. Cappuccino is my favorite a.m. beverage.

One cup of cappuccino may prevent heart problems, and only has 150 calories...drink up!

14. Sushi, fresh jalapenos, and pineapples are the Three Musketeers for my palate.

If you think this is weird, how ‘bout Cheetos and milk? According to a Buzzfeed poll, it’s the weirdest.

15. I'm a Pawn Stars fan.

The show, based on a family-owned Las Vegas pawn shop, is must-see TV if you're looking for something to watch.
